Bankole woke up the following Monday morning to a call from the car company, which was giving him six months to pay for the damages.

He arranged with his colleague in the cyber business, as they often called it. The criminal network, a very powerful group that stretched into nineteen states in the country; sent two representatives to meet up with him. The network made a promise to relieve him of his financial situation with a condition. In his quest to pay off the expensive debt he had just incurred, the criminal network asked him to get an expert who could work out their regional leader's freedom in the state. Mo’ha, a very wealthy so-called businessman, and the regional leader of the crime organization, had a pending case to answer with the financial crimes commission. Upon clearing any evidence found on him with the EFCC, Bankole would be sourced from the bottomless pockets of the organization.

The task seemed easy, but for an organization as powerful as the network to ask something from a nobody like Bankole, it smelt like fishy business. Bankole, however, didn’t bother to give it much of a thought.

A little birdie had informed the network's PR where the evidence was hidden. All they required was an advanced hacker who could wipe the traces from the very secured storage at the EFCC database.

To get his side of the bargain fulfilled, he had to contact the only person he knew who had experience with coding. So, his last resort was turning to Alexander, his half-brother, to get the job done. There was a problem, though. Alexander was in jail, and the person responsible for his jail time was his half-brother.

Bankole grabbed his phone and dialed a friend.

“Hello, my Gee ,” the receiver greeted.

“Morning, Ben. I want to get straight to the point. I need you to wire some money into the accounts of those new members. Please, for your sake, don’t leave a trace that will link back to you."

“Um….you never completed that payme—“

“You be my pesin na. You know I’ve got you. I’ll run everything after this job.”

There was a heavy sigh from the other end of the line.

“Also, contact that lawyer at your complex. Let him work out Alexander’s bail.”

“Alright.”

Shortly after the call, Bankole contacted a car dealership in a bid to sell his cars to raise funds. He managed to get a few digits from whatever was left of what he had lavished.

A text came, later on, informing him of the successful financial setup that would exonerate his half-brother in exchange for two unsuspecting newbies.

Bankole used a larger chunk of the money he had gathered to hire a defense lawyer. Alexander’s case was reopened afterward. Money exchanged hands in the usual code of handshakes, and the impossible became possible. Alexander got his fair trial. According to what was written in the books, new evidence resurfaced, annulling Alexander's previous accusation. Charges were dropped, and Alexander was let go. At first, the budding coder thought it was his latest doctor, Michael, that made his release happen.
